Description:
Pralidoxime chloride autoinjector - 2-PAM; Atropine autoinjector, or a combination autoinjector.
ImportantFeatures:
Pre-filled, disposable, self-contained unit designed for self or caregiver administration. Delivers entire contents automatically by the intramuscular (I.M.) route upon activation.
Operating Considerations:
Review information on package inserts. Resuscitative equipment (including respiratory support equipment) should be readily available. Should be used by persons with adequate training in the recognition and treatment of nerve agent or insecticide intoxication.
Caution: Primary protection against exposure to chemical nerve agents and insecticide poisoning is the wearing of protective garments, including masks, designed specifically for this use. Individuals should not rely solely upon antidotes to provide complete protection from chemical nerve agents and insecticide poisoning.
Immediate evacuation from the contaminated environment is essential. Decontamination of the poisoned individual should occur as soon as possible.
Consider all dosage requirements; consider all contraindications and side effects; perishable product, review storage requirements.
